On Sunday, September 29 a new faith formation opportunity will begin at CLC. After three years of successful Cross+Gen events, we are embarking on a new journey with Faith Formation!
The Family Table
Every Sunday during the school year, children ages 2 – 5th grade, parents, and any others interested, will gather at 9 AM in Parish Hall for a special hour. We will share Communion, pray, sing, do service projects, and explore Bible stories in exciting ways. We are moving away from the 19th and 20th century model of the Sunday School classroom where teacher presents and children listen, towards a more interactive family format, with multiple generations learning and sharing together.
The Pre-confirmation / Confirmation Table
Grades 6 – 9 (pre-confirmation / confirmation) will meet in Room 203, as a combined class, to grow in faith, reflect on scripture and the teachings of the Lutheran church, and consider ways to apply faith in daily life.
The Bible Table
Adult Bible Class will continue to meet in Room 200.
Outreach: Every year our youth undertake a special service project. The kids have provided significant support to Heifer International, the Rosebud Lakota Reservation in South Dakota, Habitat for Humanity, the Ninh Thuan Orphanage in Vietnam and Covenant House.
Christmas Eve Family Service: Each Christmas Eve at 4 PM, the children lead a beautiful worship service, playing roles in a pageant, singing carols, and playing instruments.
