WHAT CAN I EXPECT IF I COME TO CHRIST’S LUTHERAN CHURCH?
You can expect a friendly, welcoming environment at Christ’s Lutheran Church – Oreland (CLC). All are welcome here to the faith community at CLC. We have service at 10:30 am. During the summer months, the service is at 9:30 am starting the third Sunday of June to the second Sunday of September. We presently celebrate Holy Communion the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and are looking to offer Communion on a weekly basis. If you receive Communion in your faith tradition you are welcome to receive Communion at CLC. Please receive the bread in your open palm and the wine is poured into individual glasses. A non-alcoholic choice of grape juice and gluten-free bread is also available If you do not wish to receive communion you are welcome to come forward with hands folded to receive a blessing or you remain seated during this portion of the service.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
CLC has parking lots on the side and front of the church. There are multiple doors on the front of the church that you can enter to access the Sanctuary or Chapel for Sunday and weekday services. If you need assistance, please ask an usher with a nametag. The facilities are handicap accessible and we have handicap parking spaces by the front door of the Sanctuary. During the week the church office is accessible from the side parking lot behind the church. Christ’s Lutheran is also within walking distance of SEPTA’s Regional Rail Station at Oreland, PA. WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?
We invite you to bring your children to worship where there is always a special message for the kids. During the school year we hope you will consider joining us for Family Table which is a multi-generational education/worship time for families with children from toddlers through 5th grade. Middle school aged children are invited to participate in the Confirmation program. Please call the church office and ask for our Director of Spiritual Formation for more information on that program. Both Family Table and Confirmation Table take place on Sundays at 9:00am.
WHERE DO I GO IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?
A team welcomes existing member, guests and visitors each Sunday in our lobby area at the main entrance to the Sanctuary, adjacent to the front parking area. We also have an usher team each Sunday that is available to answer questions when you arrive at church for worship. In addition, there are welcome cards in each pew and inserted in the weekly church program that can be completed and submitted with the offertory. The pastor or other members of the church staff will following up with any new visitors requesting information.
WHAT DO WE DO AFTER SERVICE?
Each week our pastor and other members of CLC will be available to greet all members and visitors after the services at the rear of the Sanctuary. This is an excellent time to meet individuals affiliated with CLC and to ask questions about the congregation.
