Breakfast bags PDF Print E-mail

Once again this summer, we are collecting “breakfast bags” to be distributed to senior citizens in need by Aid for Friends . Please deposit your bags in the marked container in the Narthex. Collections will continue until the end of August. Thank you!

WHAT’S IN A BREAKFAST BAG?

For those who have wondered, and would like to participate in this wonderful project, start with 1 brown lunch bag; add 4 or 5 typical breakfast items (non-perishable) such as: a packet of instant oatmeal, small box of raisins or other dried fruit, granola bar or other “breakfast” bar, individual box of cereal, juice box, tea bag, hot chocolate mix. Add a card or drawing if you’d like to make it extra-special! Place your bags in the containers in the Narthex between now and Labor Day. This is a vital ministry run by Aid for Friends, based in Northeast Philadelphia. They provide nutritious meals for seniors on limited incomes, and they are in particular need of these breakfasts, which they distribute to needy folks free of charge. When your family fills Breakfast Bags, you are helping many elderly people to stay healthy through the hot summer months. We are keeping track of how many bags we are filling on a chart in the hall, and hope to top 150 by the end of August. Thanks so much!!
