When Jesus was asked by a lawyer “Who is my neighbor?”  Jesus responded with the story of the Good Samaritan.  And he ended the story by saying “Go and do likewise.”

Saturday, September 18 — Rejoicing Spirits 5K Run/1K Walk

 There are three ways you can be part of the Rejoicing Spirits nationwide outreach!

1.       By participating in their 5K Run/1K Walk on Saturday, September 18, at 8:30 am in Chester Springs along a scenic trail in Upper Uwchlan Township (45 minutes from here);

2.       Sponsoring our team that will represent CLC – sponsor an adult for $17 or $12 covers anyone under $15;

3.       CLC would like to be an event sponsor, at the cost of $250, which will give us ad space in the program and a spot for a display table.  So feel free to contribute towards this cost and save on our church budget!

Saturday, October 16 — Greater Philadelphia Cares Day

We will re-visit a program we participated in twice some years ago, volunteering in any one of a variety of projects in 100+ schools and various neighborhoods throughout the city. We might help paint school hallways or classrooms, organize a library, or help beautify a neighborhood by creating gardens or cleaning up playgrounds.

We have committed a team of volunteers from CLC – we don’t have our exact assignment yet but watch Pews News and the Narthex bulletin board for more details. Plan to join the team!
