EXCITING NEWS OF A NEW MINISTRY!

OUTREACH TO “THE LEAST OF THESE”
“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these…you did it to me.”
Matthew 25: 40
Join us in a exciting new ministry at CLC! We are now partnering with Chosen 300 to feed the homeless

at their Center City location on the third Monday of every “even” month. The next date is: MONDAY, JUNE 18. Thanks to all who helped with the February 20 dinner and to those who have signed up to help going forward! We need cooks (we‟ll prepare food in the church kitchen ahead of time), as well as people to transport the food and serve the meal. Please contact volunteer coordinator Jen Keller (jensk@comcast.net or 215-887-8116) or Dorie Ramsdell (tadramsdell@aol.com or 215-886-0753) if you can help in any way!!

A HUGE thank you to Dave Asher for his help in our new homeless ministry. Dave has donated a standing freezer for the CLC kitchen to store food, as well as paper goods for our dinners at Chosen 500. We all appreciate his kindness and commitment to “the least of these.”

HAVE A HEART! BE A STAR! HELP FEED THE HOMELESS!

There are specially-marked envelopes in the pews with which you can contribute to the meals we pre-pare for the homeless guests of Chosen 300 Ministries. And, of course, always feel free to mail a check to the church office, payable to the church but indicating this is where you want the money to go!

There are two things that separate Chosen 300 from other food programs/soup kitchens. 1) Their focus is not just on feeding the hungry, as meals are preceded by worship services to share the Good News and feelings of hope. 2) The staff also promotes the idea that the homeless are not helpless and actively publicize job opportunities, offer counseling, and work to empower their guests with the idea that they are responsible for helping themselves as well as accepting help from others.

We hope you‘ll feel moved to contribute to this wonderful outreach ministry!
