In Biblical times, "seven" was the perfect, complete number. Join Elise Seyfried and Pastor Kay as they team up in Lent to bring youTHE POWER OF SEVEN.will explore the seven last words of Christ through worship, meditation, and personal experience. And we will extend our outreach to seven worthy causes.
The journey begins on Transfiguration Sunday, February 14, when you will be invited during worship to write the name of someone whom you have never forgiven on paper, and drop it in a basket during the offering time. All papers will be burned after worship that Sunday, and the ashes will be used to mark our foreheads on Ash Wednesday.
Ash Wednesday worship, 7:30 pm on February 17, will include communion and imposition of ashes, and we will explore the first of Christ's seven last words, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."(Outreach: second offering for American Red Cross fire victims)
Subsequent Wednesdays will begin at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall with soup supper, followed by worship, meditation, and a quick service project. We end with dessert! (Children through age 6 will have activities of their own.)
