CATCH “HABITITIS”!!  THRIVENT BUILDS WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY…

Christ's Lutheran will be joining other Lutheran congregations of Montgomery County in a joint project of Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity, building two new homes on Linden Avenue in nearby North Hills. Habitat for Humanity is a national Christian ministry providing affordable homes for the poor. The “partner families” for these homes are two single mothers from this area. This is an exciting opportunity for them and an exciting opportunity for us.

Our contributions will include construction labor and financial support. We'll be looking for construction volunteers (no experience necessary) according to the following calendar: four people on each Friday, April 11, May 30, July 11, August 22, and October 10, and six people on each Saturday, May 17, August 16, and November 22. An appeal for financial contributions will follow. Funding of projects of the Thrivent/Habitat partnership is as follows: 65% from Thrivent, 25% from the local Habitat affiliate, and 10% from Thrivent chapters and local congregations (about $30,000 in this case).
